Good bye March ! Hello April!

Hello parents!
Wow, can you believe it? We are saying bye to March already!! The students have been working so hard and we are so proud to see the growth. Thank you for being so supportive.

We have only TWO more letter books to go. We will study /x/AND /y/ next week but we will not divide it up for two weeks like we did with /k/ and /q/. We will spend one week with /x/ and /y/.
Since there is no school on Monday, we will send home the Monday homework tomorrow along with the weekly and the story.

There is a special project due next Friday! You can take the advantage of the 3-Day weekend and get started on it early! We will be talking about recycling in the classrooms (especially during Mixing in Maria's class), and the students should use recycled materials to make a special box. It is due on April 4th, Friday.

The students will do a short presentation on the box they make. They will have to answer three questions and write them as well. Please have them write the question and the answer on a lined paper and turn it in with the box. The students will have to stand in front of the class and answer the three questions.

Thank you for your support! We only have a few more months left of Kindergarten. Let's get ready for first grade together.

Warmly,
Florita, Fanahi, and Maria

Hello parents!
Can you believe that we only have a few more weeks of March left? March is going by so fast!

We started the Breakfast in the Classroom program this week. The children will eat breakfast in the morning, so please send snack for the student to eat at 9:50. It is a long time for them to go on without food!

This week, we wrapped up our /K/ and /Q/. Next week, we will be learning about the letter /J/.
Please continue to practice the story reading with your child daily when it comes home on Fridays!

In Maria's class, we will learn about how trees grow/ life cycle of an oak tree.
In Florita's class, we are reviewing time and learning about measuring.

Please continue to practice reading, telling time, and retaining the sounds that we learned we have so far. We only have a few more letters left and we will move on to having books weekly. More details on that later when the time comes! ^^

Thank you for all the support! If you have any questions, please feel free to contact any of us.

March comes in like a lion but leaves like a lamb!

Keep working on the letters /K /and /Q/. Again, we are spending one more week on the /Q/ so please keep the weekly sheet and the story!

In Maria's class, we are focusing on March and Spring.
In Florita's class, we are continuing with learning how to read time! Please continue to practice with your child at home.

We have one more session with Chess. We have been spending 20 minutes weekly with our wonderful chess teachers! The children will get the opportunity to have chess throughout the year once they go to first grade, so don't worry!

Just a heads up, we only have a few more letters left for our letter books. Once we finish the letter books, we will read books. The system will work the same as the letter books, there will be a weekly sheet and a group of focus words. More detailed informations will be posted once the time comes.

As always, if you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact us. We are always here for you.

Cheerfully,
Florita, Fanahi, and Maria.

Hello parents!
Happy March to you all! The weather has been so beautiful lately, we hope you all are enjoying this beautiful weather :)

We had a last day of chess during lunch today! The students played each other!!!! it was SO exciting to see. We'll have another special chance to play during "grandparents and special friends' day" so if you have not turned in your form and the donation, please do so !! The students had so much fun and they were so engaged in the game!! I hope you have been hearing about all the good things. If you would like more information about the company and/or want to purchase the chessboard, please go to <www.chesstrain.org>

This week we studied the letter /w/. Next week, we are going to spend TWO weeks on /k/ AND /q/. We will keep the weekly homework for TWO weeks, so please keep it in a safe place. The weekly homework will be due in two weeks as well.

In Maria's class, we have been learning about the different weather. We will continue with the weather unit!
In Florita's class, we are learning about telling time! Please help your child practicing reading the clock at home.

Thank you so much for all of your hard work and support. We truly appreciate it!
